Here is another way to achieve a delicious Carne guisada. This recipe is using my good ol’ crock pot. I also have a stovetop recipe. The link is below. This Tex Mex beef stew is one of my favorite recipes for making tacos using my Soft Flour Tortilla Recipe. It’s perfect for parties, potlucks, and dinner.

3 lbs boneless chuck roast
1 cup water
2 beef bullion cubes
3 to 5 Roma tomatoes or 1 cup crushed tomatoes
1 small onion (diced)
3 to 4 cloves of fresh garlic
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp ground cumin
salt and pepper to taste
SLURRY – 1/2 cup cold water & 6 tbs flour
Crock Pot (I used a 4.5 QT Crock Pot)
SET TO HIGH – 5 1/2 to 6 hrs
SET TO LOW – 8 1/2 to 12 hrs
